Hi Guys ... the Tongariro has claimed another one of my phones so if you happened to have found one in the last couple of days anywhere between Judges and Big Bend flick me an email or call 07 386 7729. Alternatively leave it at Creel Tackle or Sporting Life.
The cicadas are still chirping away and there are a lot of very dark, almost black ones along the upper river. I did ok fishing the riffles and rougher water yesterday with a black foam imitation. When you're drifting one through the hurly-burly of rough water watch it like a hawk because the turbulence can mask the take ... especially if you've got eyes like mine!
Spotted some good browns up there too.
